Thoughts on Manufacturing Career Growth

I’ve spent over 20 years in manufacturing, and I’ve seen a lot of changes. With automation and new technologies, it feels like there are new opportunities every day. I’m curious how others are navigating their career paths in this evolving landscape and what advice you might have for those just starting out or looking to pivot.

It’s so true that with automation, new paths are opening up constantly… I transitioned from production to project management a few years ago, leveraging tools like Lean Six Sigma to focus on efficiency. But it drives me nuts when people ignore soft skills — they’re just as crucial for career growth.
