The role of sensors in robotics

I’ve been diving into how sensors really make a difference in robotics, especially in manufacturing. Without the right sensors, even the most advanced robots can’t accurately interact with their environment, and it’s fascinating to see how far we’ve come since the early days. What’s the most interesting application of sensors you’ve seen in your work?

But it’s crazy how much sensors have evolved — i remember using basic proximity sensors that barely worked half the time. Now, with advancements like machine vision, robots can adapt in real-time.

It’s wild to think about how vital sensors have become in shaping the efficiency of robots on the factory floor. I recently saw a demo where temperature sensors helped maintain optimal conditions for a manufacturing process, significantly reducing defects. What’s your favorite sensor technology that’s made a big impact in your projects, @tnguyen75?
