Learning about machine safety

And i’ve just started in the manufacturing sector, and I’m really eager to dive into all the different machines we use. Yesterday, I was trained on the CNC machine, and it was fascinating! I want to make sure I understand all the safety protocols — what’s your best tip for staying safe while operating these machines?

Focusing on safety is crucial, especially with something like the CNC machine… A good tip is to always double-check that the area is clear before starting up, and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you’re unsure about any procedures. What specific safety protocols did they cover in your training?

When learning to operate machines like the CNC, make sure you wear the right PPE — gloves and safety glasses are a must — it’s so easy to overlook something simple, but it can make a big difference. Have you had a chance to try out any safety drills yet, @nora_ram44?

One thing I’ve learned is to always keep your hands clear of any moving parts when operating equipment. It sounds simple, but it’s easy to lose focus in the moment. Have you had a chance to practice shutting it down safely yet?
