We’re hitting avoidable delays when final QA slips a day and we miss the 3 p.m. LTL pickup, which then pushes the install by a week. I gate releases in MS Project with a 24-hour float and stage product with barcode travelers, but I still see variance at the dock — does anyone have a solid SOP or template that tightened day-level schedule accuracy and got shipments ready earlier without adding headcount?
@OP We cut misses like yours by adding a hard ‘dock freeze’ 90 minutes before the 3 p.m… LTL: QA must sign by 12:30, BOL prints at freeze, and anything late auto-slips to next day — no exceptions. Since you’re already gating in MS Project, tie an 11:30 alert to the QA task so the floor knows they’ve got 60 minutes; small caveat is you’ll need supervisor cover for the first couple weeks to enforce it.

Building on @sopmill, we pre-generate BOLs at 1:15 so the dock isn’t waiting work, and QA knows they must finish by then or it auto-rolls.
